About myself

Heyo,

I would describe myself as a very thoughtful, sensitive and expressive person, who sometimes is chaotic and likes taking risks. I am a jazz musician, I love drawing and dancing, just improvise in life and feel every feeling that living can provide me. That also reflects in the way I see art and films. Watching a lot of high quality documentaries has widened my spectrum of knowledge about how good films should be made – it has raised my standarts too >:D I like documentary films because they can be the most resonating, uncomfortable and real. I am very interested in what ways this project can make me grow as a person c:

My name is Ugnė, and cinema for me is a way to express myself, or perhaps it’s like a diary, to capture how I observe daily things. surrounding me everyday. Lately I’ve found out, that creating or even just watching cinema, brings the most different people together and I find that very beautiful. I feel like I still haven’t found the role I could play, while creating a movie, but I think I am getting there and this project is really helping me to find my place and to get to know myself better.

I like good movies, computer games, and telecommunications. A few years ago, I used to make vlogs, edit them, and upload the edited content to YouTube. During this short time, I started to enjoy documentary film, and I learned that the original idea for a documentary film often changes. I also learned about poetic, observational, and expository documentary.

I love gazing at the views that my surroundings offer through the lens of a camera, and being more familiar with documentary now understand it goes beyond a jumble of imagery, it is capable of telling an inspiring story.

Hello, I’m Gabija, a film student living in Anykščiai, Lithuania. I have some history with film making and art as a whole: film camps, workshops, and since this year – classes! I tend to work more with the camera and directing, but with our current project I am forced to look at film making from a different angle. It’s a challenge, but I love those. Apart from films I enjoy philosophy, history, music, drinking tea and chemistry.

My name is Vanesa. I love listening to music, also playing different musical instruments. In my freetime I watch movies or TV series. The thing I love the most about cinema is the experience of feelling out the character’s emotions. In this short time period of learning about documentary movies, I have discovered that a documentary can be made about literally anything the most important thing is how you present it.

Hello, I’m Ieva, a film student living in Anykščiai, Lithuania. With our current project I have learnt about the power of storytelling through real-life experiences and shaping perspectives. Although I’ve started taking film making classes this year editing has been a hobby of mine for around 5 years. Apart from films I enjoy crocheting, playing the guitar, video games and biology.

Until this school year I have never really seen cinema as a form of art, especially documentaries. I‘ve never looked deeper than a surface. The documentary genre showed me the beauty of revealing emotions, complex inner world. I think a documentary lets us see someone else’s unique life without interfering with it as much as possible.

I love going for walks, and during this time, I started observing the environment, people, and seeing documentary-like or cinematic scenes during my walks. It’s as if each step unveils a new chapter, with the world around me transforming into a living, ever-changing story waiting to be explored.

I enjoy watching comedy movies, even the poorly made ones. I simply love to laugh, finding joy in any situation where someone can make me happy. I believe documentaries can also be a source of humor. Interestingly, I’ve noticed a shift in my perspective towards documentaries over time. Regardless, I once disliked, or perhaps even hated them, I have now developed a fondness for this genre of films.
