The begginning of the adventure… creating a « Film » club
O Clube de Cinema dinamizado na nossa Escola, em parceria com os ”Filhos do
Lumière”, integrou sete alunos do 7º e 8 º anos de escolaridade.

O balanço foi bastante positivo pelo entusiasmo demonstrado pelos participantes na
dinâmica de grupo, encarando os desafios como uma oportunidade de experimentação
de novas linguagens artísticas, arriscando novas potencialidades, num espaço de
liberdade, partilha e aceitação do outro.
The film club assembled in our school, in partnership with the association « Os Filhos de Lumières », is composed of seven students from the seventh and eight grade of the Alfredo da Silva School. Our names are Lara Honrado, Liliana Conceição, Maria Cobô, Miguel Vítor Nascimento, Nerline Monteiro, Rafael Rodrigues, Steffany Silva.
The results of the film club was very positive due to the enthusiasm showed by the participants in their group dynamic, facing challenges as an opportunity to experiment in news artistic languages and daring new possibilities in a space of freedom, sharing and acceptance of one another.

“Os exercícios práticos desenvolvidos ao longo da formação revelaram-se autênticas experiências de cinema em que descobrimos novas formas de olhar para o mundo que está à nossa volta. Neste sentido, realçaram que o uso da câmara e da perche lhes permitiram dar atenção ao detalhe, descobrindo o potencial da imagem e do som como forma de transmitir emoções. Adiantaram ter percebido que “o mundo é muito ruidoso “ ao fazerem a escolha dos sons que melhor se adequavam às imagens gravadas e selecionadas. Paralelamente, tomaram consciência que, afinal, não conheciam o bairro onde viviam tão bem quanto imaginavam, pois, a “qualidade do olhar”, no momento das gravações, permitiu-lhes “apreciar todos os recantos como se fosse a primeira vez”.
The practical exercises developed throughout the course revealed themselves to be authentic cinema experiences where we discovered new ways to look at the world around us. In that sense, it was made clear to us that by using the camera and the microphone we could bring attention to details, discovering the potential of images and sounds for conveying feelings. We found out the world is very « noisy » when we had to choose between what sounds better suited the images we filmed and selected. At the same time, we became aware that, as it turns out, we didn´t know the very neighbourhood where we lived as well as we thought because, when we were filming, we were allowed to appreciate every nook and cranny as if it was for the first time.

Foi também enfatizado pelos participantes que o suporte teórico de que beneficiaram
“foi determinante na realização dos exercícios propostos que, pelas possibilidades
criativas apresentadas, requeriam uma apreciação crítica e uma escolha, ajudando-
nos a desenvolver o nosso “eu” criativo.”
It was also made clear to us that the technical support and equipment we benefited from was determinant in the making of the exercises, due to the creative possibilities they allowed for, requiring critical appreciations and choices that helped us to develop our creative selves.
Todos os participantes se mostraram interessados num aprofundamento dos conhecimentos já adquiridos na área do cinema, confessando que “esta experiência despertou em nós a vontade de investigar e descobrir novas técnicas de som e imagem, desenvolvendo outras competências na arte de fazer cinema”
Every participant showed themselves to be interested in widening the knowledge they acquired of the cinema, confessing that » this experience awakened in us the will to investigate and discover new sound and image techniques, developing our abilities in the art of making cinema.
